Week in the Life 2012: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

I am so glad is it actually Thursday today! I spent yesterday being all confused and thinking that it was Thursday, but it wasn't!

Today is my last day of classes with the kids. Then there are just 2 days of finals and 8 days of professional development meetings before my summer officially starts!

Tuesday I shared the layouts for the first half of my Week in the Life album this year, today I'm going to share the other half.

I took so many pictures on Thursday that I needed to add an extra page! So these are the first two pages...

...and these are the second two! Thursday was the only day I had to do this for. Next year, I would like to take more pictures for this project :)

I didn't have a ton of pictures for Friday, but I did have lots of journaling squares!

Saturday I spent the whole morning cleaning out my closet. I was very happy to finally have the big pile of clothes hanging up in the closet instead of on the floor near the closet!

I love the brunch menus at Tavern on Rush, they say "Good Morning Let's Get Started". I knew I wanted that picture to be first for Sunday.

I'm really happy that I finished this project this year (as opposed to last year when I stopped writing halfway through - although I did finish the pictures!) I'm really looking forward to doing it again next year. I loved being able to compare my week this year to my one last year and see what's changed and what is the same!

Well, I should probably go shower for work now! I am just so so happy that it is finally Thursday and the weekend is almost here! I really want to go to the Farmers Market on Saturday. We tried to go last Saturday, but it started to rain as we were walking there and we saw lightning, so we decided to just go to Target instead. After we left Target, it turned out to be a lovely day, but the Farmers Market had closed by then! Do you have anything fun going on this weekend?

80 Questions

Yesterday, I shared the first half of my Week in the Life pages. I was planning on sharing the rest tomorrow (or today when you're reading this, but I'm writing this on Tuesday night). I figured I'd go to work, go to Target, come home, make some dinner and scrapbook.

Except that plan started to go badly with the traffic on my way to/from Target. And then (after I schedule this!) I have to do a deep clean in the kitchen - I spilled pasta everywhere and made a gigantic mess, which means cleaning the stove, the oven, scrubbing the floors...so not fun!

I was getting super stressed, so I walked away from the kitchen to eat quickly and jumped on blogger to see what was going on and I found this 80 questions meme through Its on the Tip of My Tongue. It looks like fun, so I'm going to take a break and fill it out, then go finish cleaning!

Week in the Life 2012: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend! We sure did, its early Tuesday morning and I'm so wishing I had just one more day at home!

I did a lot of scrapbooking. I was planning on working on my vacation album and my project life album, but because I ordered so many pictures, the one-hour photo at Target was going to take 24 hours! My pictures will be ready today, so I will be able to work on them tonight while AJ is at a business dinner. But, despite the picture delay on my other projects, I finally was able to work on putting together my Week in the Life album.

I already shared my pictures from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but I thought I would share my layouts today! Now, in my scrapbook, I have the timeline pages in the middle, but since I've shared all that already, I thought I'd show just the picture pages!

Monday page 1...I'm not quite sure why its sideways. If I wasn't running to work, I'd figure how to flip it, but it was just taking too much time this morning, and I still need to make my lunch!

Monday page 2.
Tuesday page 1. I tried to do a "cover photo" effect with that top picture. I really like how it came out. Its one of my favorite pictures from this week!

Tuesday page 2.

Wednesday page 1.

Wednesday page 2. Now I'm very hungry looking at that pizza! I should add "eat breakfast" to the "finish blog post, make lunch, brush teeth" list!

Well, today is the first day of the last week of the school year! I'm so looking forward to summer, summer in Chicago is just so fun! Do you think of Memorial Day as the unofficial start to summer, or do you have another date that signals the start of summer to you? Mine is the last day of school (which for teachers is June 14...but I can still be excited about the students' last week!)

(PS. I made a new signature! From my actual handwriting on myscriptfont.com. I'm so excited about it!)

St. Lucia: Day 4 and Going Home

Wow, Thursday felt a lot like a Friday! Did anyone else notice that?

Our last day in St. Lucia, we decided to lay around by the pool again.

Laying around by the pool.

Hanging out in the pool when we got too hot to be in the sun anymore!

All dressed up for dinner. I decided to wear my special dress again, since I'd worn it for less than two hours on our first night!

We'd had such a big lunch, we didn't want to eat dinner right away, so we decided to play pool for a little bit while everyone else had gone to dinner!

Enjoying the Asian buffet and sushi night (well, AJ enjoyed the sushi...)

AJ treated himself to a Cuban cigar on our last night. But before he had the cigar, I had a photoshoot with it. I took tons of pictures of it, with "props" (aka. AJ's drink that he lent me since it looked better next to the cigar than my lime vodka and sprite!)

This little cat lived near our room. He often came to visit, and on the last night, climbed up on AJ's chair while he was in the bathroom, so I took pictures of him.

I think he wanted some food, but we didn't have any, so AJ gave him some water instead. But then he tried to go into our room, and I had to yell at him to leave. He ran onto the next patio and sat with his back to us, then he didn't come back for the rest of vacation (all 12 hours of it). I felt bad, but he shouldn't go in our room. Especially because I'm highly highly allergic to cats!

The next morning we decided to walk around a little before we had to leave.

After breakfast we hung out in a cabana in the garden and enjoyed the view.

We were very sad to be going home. Well, AJ was a little happy since this was the last picture I made him take on vacation! I think he was getting a little tired of my camera!

Well, that is everything from my vacation! I hope you enjoyed this little peek into what we did, I know I enjoyed looking at the pictures again!

Do you have any fun plans for Memorial Day weekend? We are going to the farmer's market, the beach and having a little barbecue together. I'm really looking forward to having a three day weekend!

St. Lucia: Day 3 - Catamaran Boat Ride

Happy weekend eve everyone!

I'm so happy that its Thursday. And I'm giving a test in three of my classes today, which is awesome because it gives me some time to catch up on grading. I've been feeling a bit behind all year, what with the quick way that I started, and then going away, its been hard to catch up on everything! Test days are great, because I can catch up and plan while the kids are taking their exam!

On our middle day of vacation, we decided to go on a tour. To be honest, after getting to St. Lucia, we decided we didn't want to do the tour. We were having such a great time lounging by the pool, we didn't want to do an all day tour. We tried to cancel, but it was too late so we were forced to go.

And I am so glad we did! It turned out to be one of the best things we did all vacation! *Warning, this is super picture heavy. I took 200 pictures that day!

The smallest fishing village in all of St. Lucia.

The Piton Mountains. Because it was slightly rainy that day, the mountains were shrouded in this crazy fog that made them look all mysterious.

Chilling out on the boat...before we got sunburned!

Tons of dolphins came up to our boat. Seriously, there must have been over two dozen! I have a video, but it needs to be edited because it was so bright then, I had trouble seeing what I was filming!

The waterfall they used in "Romancing the Stone". We can ignore what the rainy and windy catamaran ride did to my make up!

The pretty mountain top where we ate lunch. I am not an adventurous eater, and I don' eat seafood or spicy stuff (I tried something super spicy on our first night...I thought my mouth was going to be burnt off!) I was very happy to see macaroni and cheese on the traditional West Indian buffet!

The Caribbean's only drive in volcano. Instead of the traditional cone volcano, this volcano is a crater. Again, ignoring the make up situation!

We drank coconut milk straight from a coconut!

And we went snorkeling! This was my favorite part of the trip! I really want to go snorkeling again. I loved seeing all of the fishies!

AJ was doing a beer contest (they had to drink two little plastic cups of beer). They requested someone from New York or New Jersey, so he went up. We didn't realize that part of the beer dancing contest required dancing behind your "wife". I tried to say I wasn't his wife so I didn't have to dance with him (just teasing him of course!), but I danced anyway!

Then I did the girls' contest. We just had to drink one beer through a straw (huh?!). This is my "What did you get me into?!" look.

This is Marigot Bay. My photos were slightly over exposed, but we were running late getting back, so they whipped us through here!

 Our catamaran ride was over.

And we got back to the resort just as the sun was starting to get low in the sky.

So AJ made me a fruity drink and we got ready for dinner!

Does anyone have tomorrow off? In New York, schools were always closed on the Friday before Memorial Day (it was one of the snow day make ups, along with two on spring break, but we almost never got far enough to have to go in on that Friday!) I just assumed we had it off in Illinois, but we don't! Oops, good thing I double checked that! So its off to work I go tomorrow :)

St. Lucia: Day 2

I was so happy when I woke up today and realized its Wednesday! This week is flying by, and I couldn't be happier, because we have a three day weekend!

I'm still re-living my vacation! Our second day (which was our first full day of vacation) we hung out by the pool almost all day!

Drinking tea in the morning on our patio.

Exploring the resort some more. We found this upstairs deck that looked out over the main area.

Chilling out at the pool bar :)

And enjoying this pretty view. I really loved these bridges!

Enjoying lunch. Those fries were delicious, and I loved the BLT. I ate them all the time!!

We tried kayaking again. This time it went much better without river banks to crash into last time!

It rained a little while we were walking to dinner. But I was excited to wear my new dress (it was a birthday present from AJ, he did a great job!)

We did karaoke too! I was proud of us for getting up and trying it, because neither one of us has a good voice!

Well, I'm off to work again! At least it is already Wednesday!!!
